Bright, powerful light with excellent app features
This is a great headlight and I love being able to use my phone to create brightness presets, which is ideal for changing settings depending on where I’m riding. The remote is excellent and being able to change presets and toggle brightness on the fly is really useful. I also love that the light charges via USB-C. I’ve mounted mine low on the fork thanks to the standard mounting, as I prefer to keep my handlebars clean. The brightest mode is extremely bright and more than enough to clearly light up unlit paths and roads, giving real confidence when riding in dark areas. The price is a bit on the high side, but for what you get it feels good value. My only concern is the battery indicator in the app. After around a week of use, it still shows 100%, which feels inaccurate given I’ve used it several times. Hopefully this is just a calibration or app issue.
Brilliant light (excuse the pun!) Bought this in the Black Friday sales for £49.99 as it was an offer I couldn't refuse. But it would be great value at normal price. For the price you get a great, well thought out light. A Garmin out front type combined light and computer mount, plus a remote. I bought this to replace (if it was good enough) my trusty old Lumicycle commuter light. But it will definitely be staying. You dont have to the extra bulk of a separate battery. It sits out the way under the Garmin so you hardly notice it when you're riding. And the bonus is that you can recharge when you get to work with USB-C. (you needed a dedicated charger which stayed at home with the Lumicyle). In use the beam patterns seem very well thought out for cyclists with a Low Beam that seems good for riding down dark country lanes and in town. Plus you can switch to High Beam which seems plenty for what I need. Not tried it for off road, but should imagine it would work well for that too. It's also great to have flashing modes so you stay visible on those dull winter mornings when you just need something to be seen. Battery life seems good, with an hours ride at with mixed beams barely using much battery. Very happy with this and would recommend!
Great light although the remote needs a lot of familiarisation. The light has decent output for both road and off road. Mounting works well with the Garmin GPS. Recommended to my brother who is using it to replace his exposure lights. Runtime on full power is around 1.5 hours – Rockbros do a battery pack that mounts on the light holder and that should triple the battery life. Great product and very flexible mounting options. For the price, you really can’t go wrong.
This is a high-end light that is very well made (metal body) with a very clear beam and it very bight when using full beam mode. I was really shocked a could of times when I used the remote button and suddenly it started flashing main beam. This happened whilst I was cycling through traffic so this was very dangerous. I need to go back and ready the manual to find out why but it's very dangerous to have a bike light that suddenly starts flash on off.

Great Lights for Great value. These lights are really well made and are easy to operate with or without Gloves… Ive used Lupine for 16 years and enjoyed great results but as we all know with a large price tag then I came across Magicshine lights and was instantly impressed with the materials used and build quality. Technology is good and ease of use even better, brackets and fixing are all top draw too. Impressive Lights with pleasing price point. 👍👍
This is the front bike light I've been looking for ! I've tried quite a few top makes & models over the years. Anyone who commutes, or rides on the road for fitness and fun, knows that a vital ..but elusive.. requirement is a sharply defined upper cut-off line to the beam, just like a car's dip beam, so that you don't dazzle other road users. The last thing you want while negotiating a dark and pot-holed country lane is for an irritated driver to flash full beam at you after being dazzled by a poorly regulated beam of a badly designed powerful modern bike light. That's just common sense, if you're also a car driver as well as a cyclist you'll know that. Forget the ridiculous tribal point-scoring. The Magicshine Hori (mine is the 1300 model) has such a superb, wide, dip-beam with that essential sharp upper limit line, that I find I rarely need to use full high-beam ..but rest assured that high-beam is very powerful with an enormous range, if you should find a need for it. Less bright, battery-conserving modes are to hand too of course. The little wireless remote control can be an initial fiddle to strap on to the overcrowded flat handlebars of a hybrid or city bike so that it falls within easy reach of the thumb, because gear controls etc tend to be in the way, but once in place and paired it's a delight to use. The only trouble is you've got to take it off for charging. As for the light itself it mounts via a very positive and secure quarter-turn mount (with other options and mount accessories included). You do have to remember to keep the tiny little remote-control charged up, not just the light, but both have USB C ports. Finally the build-quality is great, very reassuring. Were I not already in possession of an excellent rear light from another brand I would without hesitation also buy the compatible Magicshine rear light that can be paired with the remote control for one-touch front & rear operation. So then, if you ride where you'll encounter traffic and you've been struggling to find a properly designed road light, well look no further, here it is at last.
The light is great as many purchasers say. However, the UK distributor is appalling. Their stance is that every problem raised with them is a false claim that requires a blunt and very rude response. Buy if you don't mind a battle if things go wrong.
So far it's been a very useful light, strong weather proof build build and I really appreciate the remote. It comes with lots of bits and pieces, including the handle bar mount, so all considered, a great affordable package.
I got this light 2 weeks ago and got to use it for some mountain biking in pitch dark woods. The "low beam" high setting gave plenty of visible light and spread to illuminate my trail so I can dodge rocks and sticks. The "high beam" function just adds to the "low beam" as it throws the light much further. The lower and middle "low beam" settings are plenty if your riding on smooth and straight trails or roads. The size and weight of the light are both great and the build quality feels solid and durable. The upside down computer mounting is great as well keeps my handlebars free and utilizes an unused space beneath my computer. I only had and hour or two of using the light so far but the battery indicator was still on green. The handlebar remote is a great feature too. At first I was just going to leave it off the bars and use the button but I decided to try it out and it make it so convenient to cycle through the different settings and brightness. I will say my one small issue is you can only access the pulse mode for day riding with the remote but that's not a big deal for me. I was planning on uploading some pics and videos but didnt want to risk riding downhill on a rocky trail with one hand on my phone. I will definitely update my review with some pictures and videos. Also I'll give an update on battery like. Totally blown away with this light so far. Magicshine knows what they're doing. Update! Amazing light with amazing battery life. Uploaded a video of the light in action with the various settings. Ill charge it every few trips and usually have the "low beam" on the lowest settings with the strobe going as well. Ride about 6-8 hours a week and just charge it every few rides. Never had it get to low battery on me. The remote is easy to use, even with gloves on. Love love love this light!

Magicshine’s Hori 1300 is a very bright bike light. Its small body is solidly built. You have the option to install it on top or at the bottom of the mount. Another bonus feature is the remote control function to turn the light on & off. It can also control to change the mode of the light. I highly recommend this amazing product.

UPDATE Today I ran the day flash, the most economical mode, for four hours during and after a bike ride, which according to the maker should have used around 45% of the battery. I then got bored with waiting for the battery to run dry so I switched it to a steady mode with both LEDs lit and after about two hours the light finally yielded up the ghost. I'm still learning how to drive the thing so I'm not certain exactly which mode and brightness level it was in. If it was the medium level of the low beam (confusing, I know), the battery life was pretty much exactly as advertised, as in that mode the remaining charge should have powered it for about an hour and three quarters. ORIGINAL I'm delighted so far, for a number of reasons. (In fact, I'm so pleased that I think I'll look for the matching rear light.) If its battery life matches the maker's claims it'll be my best bike light, and I have something of a collection. First of all, it's impressively bright, which is a good thing in a light, although modern LED technology does more or less guarantee that any light with pretensions to quality will be bright; it's pretty much the default assumption. It has a few modes, not as many as some, but enough for most purposes. Second, it's designed to work with the Garmin and GoPro standards, which means the light itself has a Garmin-compatible base that will fit any mount designed for a Garmin Edge bike computer and it comes with an adapter with a Garmin mount on one side and GoPro-style prongs (I'm not sure of the correct name) on the other that can fit any of the innumerable available GoPro accessories. If you really want an intensely bright light hanging from the chin of your full-face helmet, strapped to your chest, or at the end of a selfie stick, this is just the thing for you. More seriously, you could fit this to the top of a helmet, using a GoPro mount, for night riding in the woods, for example. Third, it has a remote control, which is very useful if the light itself is not easily accessible when on the move, as it is on my bike (shown in the pictures). This is something I've never had, although higher-end bike lights do sometimes come with remotes of some sort. Fourth, it comes with a substantial out-front mount that could accommodate a compatible computer on the top with the light below it. If I didn't already have a good mount I'd happily use the Magicshine one. Overall, it seems unusually well made and I expect it to survive whatever Ottawa's weather can throw at it. (It'll probably see more use on my fat bike in winter than on my road bike in summer.) Even the user manual is better written and illustrated than most and presented in a variety of languages. My only major reservation, as it is with all bike lights, is whether the battery life will live up to the maker's claims. The day flash mode, in which only one of the two LEDs is active, is said to last nine and a half hours. I'll be going on a ride that will last five or six hours in a couple of days and that will be a good opportunity to test it. I'll edit this review if necessary afterwards although I have a sense I won't have to. My minor reservation, which really has nothing to do with the light itself, is that it's necessarily quite bulky to house the battery and two LED lamps and their lenses, which means that it will add a little aerodynamic drag to the bike. It also adds some weight, but that concerns me less than it would some road cyclists.
