Where do I start?
Creating a special rock climbing wall for your little one may be a daunting proposition – but trust us, it is much simpler than you think!
Start with the climb area – How big is it going to be?Take some measurements – If you aren’t sure, 2m x 4m is a good place to start (2m x 4m is fairly standard for boards if you are going to use ply).Work out how many climbing holds you need. We go with the rule of thumb that you need FIVE climbing grips per square metre.
For example: 2 x 4m = 8 square metres. then 8 (sq metres) x 5 = 40
If your little one is a bit smaller, we would recommend increasing the volume of your wall climbing toy grips, so for a 2 x 4m wall, 50 grips would be ideal. If you aren’t sure, you can always add more at a later stage.
